What did Hoover do for the U.S.?

He graduated from Stanford University with an engeneering degree in Mining, in WWI (1914-1918) he wa in charge of several relief programs of european countries, by suppling food, clothing and transportation, he did this at the end of the war for the Us troops returning as well. IN theearly 20s he conducted the mive relief of the russians during the soviet revoluton, and under the Harding Presidency (1921-1929) he deveoped the St lawence waterway plan for commerce, and started the Hoover dam project, He was much admired for his logistical abilities on a large scale, juggling and adminstationg over many areas at atime to co-ordinate relief efforts and major projects. He won the republican ticket easily, and was theonly one that most people thought could handle large scale programs. BUT, Hoover had a weakness, and that was found in his failure to see that the US was not isolated form the world wide depression that had started in WWI, and by the MId 20s had paralyzed most of theworld economiclly, europe was in economic decline with no hopes for upturn in sight, the rest of the world was crippled and the US was living the high life, credit was king, and the roaring 20s was the decade of material gain and carefree spending. when the stock market crased on Oct 29, hoover newly elected, failed to see that it was legitiamate, nd waited to long to take it serious, it wa not until about 1931 that he slowly started to work his genius, he had fine tuned in the relif work of the past, but to little to late, and the country wanted changes NOW. so he lost to FDR, and the rest is history.
