He said no commitment *sigh* and it's confused me a bit?

I've been seeing a guy who lives 300 miles away from me, he's travelled up to see me 3 times in the past month. He's very busy with fledgling businesses at the min, so says he doesn't want 'commitment'. I appreciate his honesty, but I'm uncomfortable talking about commitment (whether it be in a positive or negative sense) at such an early stage. I really like this guy, he's told me he really likes me and cares about me several times.When my sofa got ruined (long story) he offered to buy me a new one, his mate was organising tickets to a concert in September and he got 2 tickets - one for me and one for him (I was a little shocked that he was planning so far ahead), he wants me to go on a short trip to France with him in a few weeks’ time, he contacts me nearly every day, he wants me to go down regularly and stay with him and vice versa; yet he then says stuff like he doesn't want to stand in the way of me finding a nice guy who lives closer to me.
