i think that you did see something, because if more than one person saw it than it is a given that something was there, anyway from the description of the thing that you saw, my mom always tells me this story of when she played with the Ouija board and then she saw a floating orange head or something, soooo maybe you saw something like that, my advise is; ditch the house, throw all of that witchcraft crap out of your house and try to get the people that you know to stop doing black magic,
