If there is silver clay and gold clay to make jewelry, is there alloy clay, or other less expensive metals?

I want to make jewelry w/metal clay, but I don't think that I can afford the gold clay. Is there something that is less expensive that looks like gold, or a very low carat of gold clay that would cost less? I'm also interested in metal paint that looks like gold. Does anyone know about this? Thank you!
