PS2 Owners help needed........................…

i ve bought the new ps2 model n i ve two games one which was free with it (destruction derby) n second i ve bought (rise to honor), the prob is that i could not get the memory card because it was costin rs.990 for 8 mb....so wen i play game & restart it later the game again starts frm begining is there any way that i can save my game play with out mem card, can it be saved in usb drive my ps2 has 2 usb drive slots....wat should i do....!
